Kendall Baker, First Season
STUART, FLORIDA

Kendall Baker began dancing at the age of three in Stuart, FL at the Dance Academy of Stuart. She then pursued pre-professional training at Next Generation Ballet in Tampa, FL under the direction of artistic director Philip Neal and ballet mistress Ivonne Lemus. At Next Generation Ballet, Kendall had the opportunity to perform in several classical and contemporary works, including George Balanchine’s Donizetti Variations. Throughout her training, Kendall attended summer courses at Next Generation Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the School of American Ballet. In 2018, she joined the Professional Division of Pacific Northwest Ballet under the direction of Peter Boal. While at PNB, Kendall performed many company roles, notably in Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Kent Stowell’s Cinderella, and Ronald Hynd’s The Sleeping Beauty. She also originated roles in works by PNB dancers Margaret Mullin and Christopher D’Ariano. Since joining Alabama Ballet in 2020, some of Kendall’s favorite roles include the fourth movement principal in George Balanchine’s Western Symphony, Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote, and Prayer in Coppelia.
