Katie Drozd
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA

Katie Drozd’s passion for dance was sparked at a young age when she began ballet classes at a local dance studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She continued her training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for their highschool and college program. She worked extensively with Susan Jaffe, Jennet Zerbe, Jared Redick, and Laura Martin before joining the Alabama Ballet. At UNCSA Katie performed Don Quixote (Bridesmaid Soloist), Sleeping Beauty (White Cat), and Serenade by George Balanchine. She also participated in Prix de Lausanne’s Partner School’s Choreographic Project dancing in Didy Veldman’s world premiere of Is To Be. At Alabama Ballet she originated a role in Alex Swader’s contemporary duet Those who Change Us, and has performed Lead Marzipan in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. Katie has a Classical Pilates Certification, and currently teaches in Alabama. Her eager curiosity to grow both as an artist and a human propel Katie to keep learning and gaining new experiences in and out of the studio.
