Of the eleven Broadway musicals Rick co-produced, Jersey Boys, Hairspray, The Producers and Big River won Tony Awards for Best Musical. In 1954, at age eight, Rick made his stage debut opposite Gene Lockhart in On Borrowed Time and then promptly retired. Rick won six poker championships including the 1992 World Series of Poker 7-Stud Hi-Lo event. He resided in Cincinnati, Ohio with his children, Ace and late son Duke, and sat on the ownership bench of his beloved Cincinnati Reds until his untimely death on November 3, 2016. His nephew Joey now runs operations for his ongoing company Rick Steiner Productions, which specializes in producing and the merchandising side of the business.
