Amelia Danehy is from Saco, Maine, and started her dance training at Steppin’ Out Dance Center. She continued her studies at Portland School of Ballet, Exchange Street Studio, Scarborough Dance Center, and Dance Studio of Maine. She attended summer intensives at the Joffrey Ballet School, Festival Ballet Providence, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. In 2020, Amelia moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia to study dance and business management with a concentration in innovation and entrepreneurship at James Madison University. While there, she completed two internships at the College of Visual and Performing Arts, one of which expanded scholarship funding. Additional accomplishments include multiple team awards in the 2023 Rainey-Shepard Business Plan Competition. Amelia completed her B.A. in Dance in May 2024. She is currently completing her business degree and is excited to join Charlottesville Ballet.
