Lorraine DiSimone
A250 Repertoire Advisor

Lorraine DiSimone brings extensive expertise in opera, concert performance, arts education, and American art song. A retired Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she has performed over 50 roles with Glimmerglass Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Sarasota Opera, and Prague State Opera. She has appeared as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Augsburg Philharmonic, and Bayerischer Rundfunk Chamber Orchestra, and performed at Carnegie Hall and La Fenice. A champion of contemporary music, she has performed with the Center for Contemporary Opera (NYC) and Lincoln Center Outdoors. She has taught at Clark and Wake Forest Universities, the Berkshire Choral Festival, and the Amalfi Coast Music Festival. With over 40 years as a performer and educator, DiSimone will bring her expertise in vocal storytelling as a Repertoire Advisor to Charlottesville Ballet for the “America250” program, ensuring artistic excellence and historical depth.
