Dr. Nina Salmon is a writer, educator, and community advocate whose work centers on Virginia’s literary and cultural history. A retired professor of English at the University of Lynchburg, she has also taught at Washington & Lee and Virginia Military Institute, and earned her PhD from Virginia Tech.
Since 2006, Dr. Salmon has shared her deep knowledge of poet Anne Spencer’s legacy, including her collaboration with choreographer Keith Lee and filmmaker Phil Spinner on the 2008 film Anne Spencer Revisited. A contributing scholar for America250: Voices of Virginia and a member of the public forum panel, she brings vital historical context and community-rooted perspective to this project, helping connect art, place, and story on stage.
