Sara Bon-Harper, Executive Director of James Monroe’s Highland, is an archaeologist and former research manager at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. She holds a B.A. in anthropology and classics from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and she is known for advancing evidence-based, community-informed approaches to interpreting history.
Sara will serve as moderator for the post-performance discussion following the Charlottesville A250 concert. Drawing on her expertise in historical interpretation and public history, she will guide a conversation with our artists and scholars that situates the program’s repertoire within broader historical and civic contexts, offering audiences deeper insight into the themes explored onstage.
