Sophie was born in Tsukuba, Japan then moved to Massachusetts where her passion for dance continued to grow. She is a recent graduate from Mercyhurst University as a double major in Dance and Public Health. At Mercyhurst, she trained with Matthew Christensen, Danielle Kaiser, Jennifer McNamara, Noelle Partusch, Mark Santilliano, Soveig Santilliano and Lesley Boris-Scalise. During her time at Mercyhurst University she joined SoMar Dance Works, where she was a company member for the past three years. Sophie is excited to continue her dance journey as a Trainee at Charlottesville Ballet, gaining more experience and exploring her growth as a dancer as well as an individual.
