Ami Trowell
Unhuddled Playwright

Ami Trowell is a playwright, improvisor, director and teacher. She is also the co-founder of Ursula’s Café, a donate what you can café and community arts venue. She writes stories that center the lives of those who are often misunderstood or silenced. Ami believes that plays give us the opportunity to reflect on these lives and find our own truths in the stories. Currently she is pursuing an MFA in playwriting from Hollins University where she was the recipient of the 2022 Brandon DuMonde Scholarship.
