Miriam Ragland (Director/Costumer/Assistant Choreographer) began her career as a theatre professor at Presbyterian College in 2001, where she received recognition from ATHA (American Theatre for Higher Education) for her innovative teaching, as well as multiple awards for excellence in directing from KCACTF (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). In addition to directing, Miriam is an experienced choreographer, deviser and facilitator. Two summers ago she trained in Rio de Janeiro at the Centre of the Theatre of the Oppressed, founded by Augosto Boal, where she learned how to use theatre as a tool for community building and encouraging conversations. She is also a member of PlayBack Café and performs regularly at Triune Mercy Center and The Greenville Miracle Hill Rescue Mission. Previous Centre Stage credits include direciton of multiple readings for Centre Stage's Annual New Play Festival, and the production of New Play Festival winner, Starbright in January 2020. She is excited to be back to direct her first Mainstage show with Centre Stage!
