Director's Notes

Were you forced to read Shakespeare as a student?  Did your parents drag you to the theatre for Romeo & Juliet or A Midsummer Night’s Dream?  Did your teachers tell you how great Hamlet was even though you had no idea what the heck he was saying in any of his long winded over-acted speeches?  Well you are not alone!  I, too, have felt the same way, which is why I am so eager for everyone to see this play.

This show will tell you “everything” you need to know about the Bard’s plays in a highly “academic” and “scholarly” approach while still being fun and enjoyable.  So get your notebooks out and put on your thinking caps for a 12 hour extravaganza of all of Shakespeare’s - NAH, I’m just kidding.  Our show isn’t anything like that.  It may not be considered academic or scholarly, but it is one of the greatest love letters to Shakespeare’s work ever written.

This play will irreverently and lovingly take you through all of the Bard’s work, even if we just quickly mention a play in passing.  Will you enjoy it? Yes.  Will you learn something? Maybe.  Will you have a great time leaving your many troubles at the door and escaping into the minds of these three off-the-wall performers? Absolutely.  Now, more than ever, we need some art that is pure escapism to experience together as a community.
