Thom Babbes (Director) is thrilled to be making his Greenville directorial debut at Centre Stage.  He recently moved to Greenville from Los Angeles where he directed productions of THE HUMAN COMEDY (Best Writer/Director - Stage Scene LA Award),  A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, SUMMER AND SMOKE, AH! WILDERNESS (Best Director – Stage Scene LA Award) and WAIT UNTIL DARK at Actors Co-op in Hollywood. He directed the premiere of SUN CITY by Jim Geogan at Stella Adler Theater and developed and directed workshop productions of THE REAL REAL THING and WASHINGTON IRVING’S SKETCHBOOK by Frank Higgins.  Musicals productions include, NEWSIES, THE MUSIC MAN, BONNIE AND CLYDE, PETER PAN and MARY POPPINS.  Thom returns to California to direct THESE SHINING LIVES in January.

A writer as well, Thom’s screenplays DEADLY DREAMS and BODY CHEMISTRY were produced by Roger Corman’s Concorde/New Horizons.  His short film THE AUDITION was winner of Best Screenplay and Best Comedy at the 168 Hour Film Festival.  He also co-wrote the dark comedy  X-TREME WEEKEND which played film festivals all over the United States and Canada.  His newest work is a stage adaptation of the William Saroyan novel THE HUMAN COMEDY which played to critical acclaim at Actors Co-op in Hollywood and The Nevada Conservatory Theatre.   His play SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY had a workshop at the Frank Silvera Writers’ Workshop in NYC and his musical ACROSS THE RIVER (Book & Lyrics) was produced at the Great American Melodrama in Oceano, California and the Cohoes Music Hall in New York.  He would like to thank his wife of 35 years, Voice-Over actress Keri Tombazian for making the move to this great state.  Thom is a member of DG, SDC, AEA & SAG/AFTRA.   www.thombabbes.com
