CHRIS GIORDANO
Director

CHRIS GIORDANO (Director) For the past fourteen years, Chris has been a passionate educator and director in educational theatre, teaching various theatre disciplines and directing over twenty-five educational productions. His work includes organizations such as AMDA College and Conservatory, The New York Film Academy, TexARTS, 92nd Street Y, Brooklyn Acting Lab, Play Group Theatre, and Curtain Call's Summerstock Creative Theater. He is currently the full-time theater teacher at Great Neck North High School in Long Island. Chris holds an M.S.Ed. in Educational Theatre from The City College of New York. He also earned a BFA in Musical Theatre, a BA in Theatre Arts Directing, and a Dance minor from Pace University. Previously, he was the Producing Director of a Manhattan non-profit theatre company, managing six Off-Broadway productions, where his work on new short musicals earned him invitations to adjudicate the Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival, and curated an anthology of ten-minute musicals, securing a licensing deal with Music Theatre International. He directed cabaret singer Sean Patrick Murtagh in two shows, Mario! A Salute to the Great Lanza (which won the 2020 MAC award for Best New York Male Debut) and Beautiful Girls: A Tribute to Sondheim’s DivasHe’s also directed two short plays for the Emerging Artist Theatre's New Work Series. As an actor, Chris made his Curtain Call debut as The Baker in Into the Woods and subsequently played Chad in Disaster! The Musical during the 2021-2022 main stage season. He has performed in national tours of Broadway Christmas Wonderland and The Berenstain Bears Live!, and in the off-Broadway production of Pinkalicious: The Musical. Regionally, he has appeared at Gretna Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Weathervane Theater, and La Comedia Dinner Theatre. He also performed in The Polar Express Train Ride, produced by Rail Events and Warner Brothers. A SAG-AFTRA member since 2011, Chris has experience in over sixty television and film projects. Chris extends his heartfelt thanks to the SYT production team for their dedication and support in bringing this production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to life.
