Zihua Ma, born in 2000, originally from Guangzhou, China. Began to play violin at four years old. She pursued the Primary School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, at the age of nine and finished her high school diploma there. In 2020 she was admitted into Oberlin Conservatory of Music and she pursued her honorary Bachelor’s degree, under David Bowlin in 2024; Currently she is a first year Master's, under David Bowlin as well. Zihua is active as a soloist and also in chamber music. She enjoys playing contemporary music and has an opportunity to premiere some contemporary works from composers, Matthew Lam, Kelvin Tang, and Bo Huang. Zihua also worked with many great artists such as Francesca dePasquale, Peter Slowik, Sibbi Bernhardsson, Kristen Docter and Joseph Johnson.
