Born in Northwest Indiana, Emma Westerfield is a current student at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she is pursuing a Bachelor's in flute performance. Emma has recently attended the Sarasota Music Festival in 2024, and the Eastern Music Festival in 2023, and has played in halls all around Europe, including the Rudolfinum, Gewandhaus, and Musikverein. She is an active orchestral musician, and has played in orchestras at the Jacobs School of Music for four years, including having done five opera productions and one ballet production. Emma has performed chamber works alongside professionals such as Jeff Scott, Mike Block, and Jeffrey Kahane. Emma currently studies with Thomas Robertello, and previously studied with Emma Gerstein. She has also studied in masterclasses with Jasmine Choi, Marianne Gedigian, and Demarre McGill.
