Ophir Dahari is a nineteen year old violinist and currently a freshman at the Jacobs School of Music, pursuing an undergraduate degree in violin performance. She is currently studying with Grigory Kalinovsky. Previously, she studied the violin with Jennifer Cappelli since age four. For 12 years, Ophir has been a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO), sitting as concertmaster of Symphony Orchestra. As well as participating in CYSO, Ophir was an active member in the Chicago Youth Symphony Chamber Orchestra(2018-2023). In the summer of 2023, Ophir participated in the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, on their North America Tour. In 2022, she won the Paul Vermel Young Artist Award, and performed with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra(2023). Ophir has performed in masterclasses led by Andrés Cárdenes and Mathias Tacke. In the summer of 2019, Ophir attended the HeifetzPEG program, exploring chamber music and solo repertoire. In the summer of 2018, she attended the Boston Tanglewood Institute. Along with Ophir’s achievements, she volunteered in multiple community events; at the Israeli Consulate of Chicago, Holocaust Memorial Day service where she played on a Violin of Hope, and senior living homes.
