Parker Burkey is a tubist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Originally from Grand Junction, Colorado, he began his studies in high school with University of North Texas alumnus Dr. Richard Morgan. He attended UNT and graduated in 2023 with a bachelors degree in music performance and earned a masters degree in music performance in 2025. Parker studied with Donald Little, formerly of the Dallas Opera and Fort Worth Symphony as well as with Matthew Good of the Dallas Symphony. In addition to pursuing his own studies, he taught lessons to local high school students as well as UNT music majors. Parker aspires to play regularly in an orchestra and when he’s not preparing for auditions he enjoys hand crafting Chicago style deep dish pizzas in his kitchen.
