I can't believe it has been 17 years at Chautauqua! Yes, I did the math... again. I am so proud to continue to have the opportunity to come back to Chautauqua Opera. It is such a joy to design and make costumes with my crew for a fun show and work with amazing people across every department. I started here at the Opera as a stitcher in 2008 and over this time have had the chance to learn, grow, and move up the ladder to the position in which I presently reside. I can still hear Barney's wisdom in my head even though he is no longer present on this plane of existence. For those who knew my predecessor, he is deeply missed and can be remembered by stopping by the purple bench out front of the Opera Costume Shop during our season. The rest of the year I work as the full time seasonal firsthand at The Cleveland Playhouse in lovely Cleveland, OH. I also lend my sewing skills as needed at Sweet Lorain Vintage Store, Karamu House, and other homegrown projects as they find me. Theatre and art sustains my life and I really adore what I do. Not many people can truthfully say that and mean it. So here we go! Once more into the fray and thanks again for believing in our operatic livelihood and creative arts when many did not.
