Katarina Swann
Harp

Katarina Swann is a student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is pursuing a BM in Harp Performance, where she studies with the world-renowned performer and teacher Katherine Siochi. She spent the first two years of her undergraduate degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Yolanda Kondonassis. She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy as a Harp Performance major in the spring of 2023 under the tutelage of Joan Holland. From the age of five, she began piano lessons and later started lessons on the harp at the age of ten. Before attending Interlochen, she served as the harpist for the Philadelphia and Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestras. Since, she has filled the roles of harpist in ensembles such as the Eastern Music Festival student and faculty orchestras, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, San Francisco Conservatory of Music Orchestra, and multiple Interlochen ensembles. As a member of the American Harp Society, she was recognized in 2019 with first prize in the Philadelphia chapter advanced division. Throughout her years at Interlochen, she was awarded multiple scholarships, and most recently given the Cleveland Institute of Music Recognition Award scholarship. She has performed in masterclasses with esteemed harpists such as Elizabeth Hainen, Judy Loman, Brandee Younger, Elzbieta Szmyt, and Ann Hobson Pilot. She has also worked with conductors such as JoAnn Falletta, Anthony Parnther, and Edwin Outwater. She attended the Interlochen Online Camp during the summer of 2020, participated in the Curtis Summerfest in 2018-2020, attended Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute in the summer of 2022, as well as the Eastern Music Festival in 2024.
