Lance E. Nichols is truly honored to be bringing August Wilson’s life back to the stage. Previous productions at Portland Stage and LePetit Theatre in New Orleans were directed by CTC Producing Artistic Director Jade King Carroll in 2023. Mr. Nichols reprised the role again in a one-night command performance in January 2025 at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, CA. Other notable theatre credits include August: Osage County at Southern Rep, The Piano Lesson at LePetit Theatre, King Hedley II at Swine Palace and numerous productions of Driving Miss Daisy with 4 time Emmy Award-winner Michael Learned at various theaters nationwide. He is an accomplished television and film actor, having appeared in the HBO series Treme, Queen of the South, Into the Badlands, The Chosen and House of Cards. You can catch him in Season 2 of the series Scarpetta as Dr. Earnest Bailey alongside Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis. Lance is best remembered as the faith healing preacher in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He has been blissfully married for 46 years to his wife Zardis who is an accomplished jazz singer. They are the proud parents of three daughters, four grandchildren and twin great grandsons.
