Aidan Krieger is a violinist from Southfield, MI. His dad, a singer-songwriter, introduced him to folk and jazz from a young age, but his love of classical music was self-discovered. In sixth grade, being in a performance of Sibelius’ Second Symphony changed the course of his life; he wanted nothing more than to be inside that sound world. He attended Interlochen Arts Academy from 2019-2021, and enrolled at the University of Michigan in 2021, studying with Prof. Fabiola Kim. He recently graduated with a BM in violin performance, and is currently pursuing two Master’s Degrees, in violin performance and chamber music, also at U of M.  
 
Aidan is interested in the mechanics of great compositions, taking apart scores to figure out how they “tick,” and getting to know individual composers across mediums and genres. Recent examples include the symphonies and vocal music of Gustav Mahler and the chamber music of Béla Bartók.
