Tiara Lai is a 21 year-old violinist from Toronto, Canada. She began showing a strong interest for music at a young age, starting violin at the age of three and piano at the age of six. Throughout high school, she studied at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Atis Bankas. Over the years, Tiara has developed a love for chamber music. She has played in multiple ensembles throughout high school and now in college, receiving coachings from members of the Ying, Jupiter, and Cecilia Quartets. Tiara is currently going onto her last year of her BMus in violin performance at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Mikhail Kopelman. She is the recipient of the Eastman Artist Scholarship and the Silvia L. Gilbert Memorial Scholarship. In her free time, Tiara enjoys reading, rock climbing, and painting.
