Lauren M. Smith is an oboist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is in her third year of study at the Louisiana State University School of Music and is a member of the university’s honors college. Smith has performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra on multiple occasions and was a member of the Louisiana Youth Orchestra from 2016 through 2019. Currently, most of Smith’s performance work is with the LSU Symphony Orchestra, her wind quintet, Quintet Rouge, which she founded in 2021, and in churches and ensembles throughout the state of Louisiana. Smith also contains an interest in music history. Beyond music, she totes an impressive career as an athlete in her youth. Smith is not only dedicated to her personal and musical growth, but also to the holistic and inclusive flourishing of classical music.
