Alexis Reed
Donna Elvira

Minnesotan soprano Alexis Reed has been praised for singing with “gorgeous tone”, “soaring vocally”, and “dramatic conviction” (Cleveland Classical). Reed was most recently seen on the operatic stage as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Léontine (L’amant Anonyme), and Agnieska (She sees her lover in the light of morning). In 2019, Reed made her professional operatic debut in Cleveland Opera Theater’s La traviata, in which she "outdid herself in the final act as Annina" (Cleveland Classical).

Reed has performed the roles of Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Nannetta (Falstaff), Lisette (La rondine), and Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw). As an avid performer of 21st-century opera as well as works from the canon, Reed collaborated with the composers and librettists during the third-ever production of Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up (Ma), the second production of Du Yun’s Angel’s Bone (Mrs. X.E.), and the workshop of James Garner’s Much Ado! (Beatrice).

Reed earned her master’s degree at McGill University under the tutelage of Joanne Kolomyjec and Michael McMahon and her bachelor’s degrees at Oberlin College and Conservatory under the tutelage of Marlene Rosen.
