Bianna Bell
Violin

Bianna Bell, 17, has been studying at Special Music School since she was 5. She has been playing violin and piano since she was 4 years old, however, chose to study violin at SMS. She studied with Viktor Basis up until 8th grade and transferred to Nurit Pacht in 9th who is also her current teacher. Bianna won the Concerto Competition at her school on the violin in 2019 and two years before that, won the Concerto Competition on the piano while she was studying piano with Irina Morozova at Lucy Moses School. She has performed at many composer festivals and concerts within SMS and LMS. Even during the pandemic, she recorded music for these concerts, one of which was with her chamber group where she performed with Seth Parker Woods who was the Artist in Residence at the time.  
 
Most recently, she participated in a concert where she played with violinist Charles Yang and pianist Peter Dugan. She also participated in Rob Kapilow’s podcast series “What Makes it Great” where she and a handful of other kids from her high school played music by The Beatles. Outside of school, Bianna had been in the New York Youth Symphony’s chamber division program when she was 12 and was consistently taught music by her parents and took singing and dance classes on top of violin and piano lessons for a good portion of her life. She was invited to play in Ukraine with the President Orchestra summer of 2019. She also participated in the Concertino Praga competition in 2020 where she was one of the three finalists. Bianna hopes to pursue music as a career and wants to study at Julliard which she will be auditioning for this upcoming school year. Apart from performances and competitions, Bianna’s hobbies include playing guitar, listening to music, jamming with her musician friends, and journaling.
