Originally from Houston, Texas, violist Cristina Micci-Barreca is currently based in Cleveland, Ohio. She is pursuing her MM in Viola Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Lynne Ramsey, assistant principal viola of the Cleveland Orchestra. Cristina completed her undergraduate studies at CIM with Jeffrey Irvine. Her freelance career includes performing with Northeast Ohio ensembles such as the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, as well as teaching at the Cleveland School of the Arts and the Avon School of Music. Additionally, she is the current president of the Ohio Viola Society. This year, Cristina is returning to the Chautauqua Institution after attending in 2019. Other summer festivals she has attended include the Bowdoin Music Festival, Le Domaine Forget, and the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, Italy.
