Alexander Lo is currently pursuing a DMA in Piano Performance and Literature with a minor in Music Theory at the Eastman School of Music, where he also completed his previous education (B.M. ‘17, M.M. ‘19). From Washington Township, New Jersey, Alex owes much of his musical development to Professor Natalya Antonova, with whom he currently studies, and Professor Veda Zuponcic of Rowan University, his mentor throughout high school. An avid educator, Alex has been teaching Class Piano and Secondary Piano lessons at Eastman over the past several years and received the Teaching Assistant Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2021. Since 2015, he has also been working with Eastman’s Office for Residential Life to promote community within their residence halls; this coming Fall, he will be serving as their Interim Area Coordinator. Alex first attended the Chautauqua Piano Program in 2019 and is delighted to be back again. He has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Chautauqua community and is humbled by this opportunity to perform again.
Alexander is the recipient of The Rizzolo Family Fund and The Eleanor B. Daugherty Scholarship Fund,.
