Born on February 1st, 1994, violist Hao-Yuan Hsu graduated from the Master of Music degree in Manhattan School of Music, under the guidance of Prof. Karen Ritscher. Hao-Yuan began studying Viola with Mr. Sadazo Yoshinaga at the age of 11. At the age of 12, he continued his study with Mrs. Ming-Li Wu, Viola faculty of the Shih-Chien University. While completing his Bachelor of Music degree, Hao Yuan studied with Mr. Zong Cheng Chen at Soochow University.
After finishing his studies in Taiwan, Hao Yuan started his journey to the United States to study at the Manhattan school of Music with Prof. Karen Ritscher. During his studies, he served as the principal violist in the school orchestra. In 2019, Hao-Yuan performed Tobias Picker's opera Emmeline's concert premiere as deputy principal. Hao-Yuan was also invited to the Karen Tuttle Viola workshop, taught by Sheila Browne, Susan Dubois, Jeffrey Irvine and Michelle LaCourse. Hau Yuan had a master class with Prof. Grace Shim and Sally Chisholm. After graduation in 2020, he returned to Taiwan and held his solo recital in Son-Yi Hall in Taiwan and participated in many chamber music and orchestra performances until now. Hao-Yuan is currently teaching at Luo-dong elementary School Nan-Ping elementary School as a private viola teacher.
