Alexis Mitrushi recently graduated early in 3.5 years with her Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance, as well as a minor in GSFS, studying with Kirsten Docter. She is originally from Houston, Texas and studied with Teresa Han from the age of 12, originally starting her musical endeavors with piano from the age of 8. She has also worked with musicians such as Dimitri Murrath, Ivo Jan Van der Werff, Yu Jin, Lynne Ramsay, Julia Clancy, Eric Wong, Karen Ritscher, and Suzanne LeFevre, and Andrea Bocelli. She has attended Encore and Chautauqua music festivals, and she has served as principal of the Oberlin Orchestra, Oberlin Chamber Orchestra, Oberlin Sinfonietta, and Chautauqua Music Festival Orchestra. She has served as a substitute violist for Firelands Symphony Orchestra and a viola coach for Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra and as a Viola TA for Oberlin OASO. She will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Fall 2022 at Mannes in NYC for Viola Performance. Outside of music, Alexis enjoys baking, reading poetry under trees, and having thought-provoking conversations with loved ones.
