Marcus Shields is a visual artist and stage director based in NYC. Recent work includes BAD CHOICES, GEORGIA (a video installation in Times Square), FELLOW TRAVELERS (Des Moines, Arizona Opera), UP UNTIL NOW (film), THE GLITCH (a new opera by Nico Muhly + Greg Pierce). He is the co-founder of the UPUNTILNOW collective, a group of artists exploring relationships between music and ASL, as well as a cofounder of OSSIA, a new media creative consulting company. Professional affiliations include: LYRIC OPERA CHICAGO, MEROLA OPERA, SANTA FE OPERA, WOLF TRAP OPERA, CINCINNATI SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, SAINT LOUIS OPERA. Additionally, he is a full time member of the stage directing staff at the METROPOLITAN OPERA.
