Janae Gaddy is a double bassist, private instructor and chamber music coach based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She is entering her third year of the undergraduate degree program at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, studying performance with James VanDemark. Her previous teachers include Domenick Fiore and Jennifer Petry. Prior to college, Janae held principal positions in the Allegretto Chamber Orchestra, Reading Youth Symphony and Lancaster Youth Symphony. Last summer, she was a finalist in MasterWorks Festival’s Concerto Competition in Spartanburg, SC. She has also participated in NAfME’s All National Honors Orchestra and PMEA’s All State Orchestra. Her awards include the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Scholarship and the LLMEA Senior Recognition Award. This fall, she will be a member of the Eastman Philharmonia bass section.
