The Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson is the retired Bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire, and in 2017 was named Vice President for Religion and Senior Pastor of Chautauqua Institution. Just prior to coming to CHQ, Gene was a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, in Washington, DC, where he lives. He is the author of In the Eye of the Storm, Swept to the Center by God (2008) and God Believes in Love: Straight Talk about Gay Marriage (2012) and was the subject of two feature-length documentaries. In early 2009, Barack Obama invited Gene to pray the invocation at the Opening Inaugural Event at the Lincoln Memorial. He can often be seen in Miller Park with his beloved Dachshund, Boxer.
