Gabriel Roth
Violin

Gabriel Roth recently finished his second year studying with David Bowlin at Oberlin College and Conservatory, where is is working towards degrees in History (BA) and Violin Performance (BM), with a minor in Baroque Violin. At Oberlin, Gabriel is both a John F. Oberlin and Conservatory Dean’s scholar and has served as concertmaster of the Contemporary Music Ensemble and the Oberlin Orchestra for their production of Candide. On baroque violin, he has studied with Marilyn McDonald, Julie Andrijeski, and Edwin Huizinga and has collaborated in concert with members of Oberlin’s baroque faculty. Gabriel has performed at Lincoln Center’s Rose Studio and at Carnegie Hall under the auspices of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Oberlin Conservatory, respectively. He has participated in masterclasses and coachings with members of the Jasper, Shanghai, American, Calidore, LARK, Cavani, Attaca, and Verona quartets, as well as violinists Joan Kwuon and Carmit Zori. He is also privileged to have been heard nationally on American Public Media’s Performance Today®. In 2022 Gabriel was a fellow at the Round Top Festival Institute, and earlier this summer was also a fellow at the Kinhaven Young Artists’ Seminar.

Gabriel is the recipient of the Elke Kieserling Hoppe Scholarship, the Pennsylvania Scholarship Fund, and The Carnahan-Jackson Scholarship Fund.
