Diego Mieres is studying with Yizhak Schotten at the University of Michigan, School of Music Theatre and Dance BM 25’ Classical Viola. He has been awarded with the second prize for Mazta Solo Competition and the Sphinx Full Scholarship. He has collaborated with musicians such as Gustavo Dudamel, Sarah Chang, Wynton Marsalis and he took masterclasses with Amy Chang, Minor Wetzel. He has been invited to collaborate with La Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela, and he is regular guest member of La Orquesta de Camara de El Sistema.

Diego is the recipient of The Penrose-Mahaffey Scholarship Fund.
