Trenton Carr is a hornist based out of Dallas, TX. An avid freelancer, he has performed with several high-caliber groups including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (Dallas, TX), Dallas Winds (Dallas, TX), Plano Symphony Orchestra (Plano, TX), Irving Symphony Orchestra (Irving Texas), and McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra (McKinney, TX). When he is not playing concerts of standard symphonic repertoire, Trenton can be found exploring the world of chamber music with the High Noon Brass Quintet and the Transposition Club Horn Quartet, earning a spot in the finals of the Ginger Turner Small Ensemble Competition with the latter. Carr earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of North Texas under Dr. Stacie Mickens and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Horn Performance at Southern Methodist University under Haley Hoops and David Heyde of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. When he is not studying or performing, he can often be found enjoying the great outdoors and playing racquetball. Though he loves the constant pursuit of becoming a better musician, Trenton places even greater value on those moments outside of the concert hall or the practice room that make him a better person.
Trenton is the recipient of The Lucille J. McClure Memorial Music Scholarship Fund and the Milks Family Scholarship for Brass Music.
