Miranda Macias is a bassoonist in New York with The Orchestra Now. She completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University with Wilfred Roberts, former Principal Bassoon of the Dallas Symphony and recently graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music where she studied with Richard Svoboda, Principal Bassoon of the Boston Symphony. In addition to orchestral music, she is passionate about chamber music and education and hopes to bring a feeling of joy and accomplishment to her students and colleagues.

Miranda is the recipient of the Chautauqua Women's Club General Scholarship, the Nina T. Wensley Scholarship, and The Carnahan-Jackson Scholarship Fund.
