Evan Beachy is a trombonist based in the Cleveland, OH area. Originally from western Maryland, he is currently studying under John Gruber at Oberlin Conservatory working towards a Trombone Performance degree. Although his concentration is bass trombone, Evan is skilled on tenor trombone, tuba, and euphonium as well. Throughout high school he participated in Maryland All-State Band as well as the WVU Invitational Mountaineer Honor Band. In 2023 alone, he has been named Principal Bass Trombonist with the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute and the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra, participated on bass trombone at the International Trombone Summit, and was a semi-finalist in the Toledo Symphony Bass Trombone Audition. His future plans are to win a position at a major symphony orchestra as a Bass Trombonist and to teach trombone at a college or conservatory.
Evan is the recipient of the Charles John Petre Memorial Fund Trombone Award and the Konneker Scholarship.
