Mira Vaughn
Viola

Mira Vaughn is a violist going into her fourth year of undergraduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, in the studio of Jeffrey Irvine. Mira has performed with the Reading Symphony, Baltimore Choral Arts Orchestra, and Columbia Orchestra. Festivals attended include Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI), Bowdoin International Music Festival, Interlochen Viola Institute, and Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Her teaching and leadership experiences included the Cleveland School for the Arts, BUTI, Violin2Viola workshops, the Music Mentors program, and she teaches her own private students. The recipient of the Emma Eels Crowell Achievement Scholarship and other awards and merit scholarships, Mira’s primary teachers have been Jeffrey Irvine, and Karin Brown. She has been selected to perform in master classes for Lynne Ramsey, Kirsten Docter, Michelle LaCourse, Daniel Sweaney, and Catherine Lees. Mira aspires toward a career that melds teaching and performing. She performs on a 2016 viola made by Hiroshi Iizuka.

Mira is the recipient of The Arlene Hajinlian Music Scholarship, The Dr. Frits & Corrie Wiebenga Scholarship Fund, and The Carnahan-Jackson Scholarship Fund.
