Adam Dinitz
Oboe

Adam Dinitz joined the Chautauqua Symphony in the summer of 2023 as its English Horn player and has been the Solo English Horn of the Houston Symphony since 2007. Prior to joining the Houston Symphony, Mr. Dinitz previously held positions with the San Francisco Symphony, The Florida Orchestra, and the Sarasota Orchestra and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, among others. He has participated in many summer festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Center, the Aspen Music Festival, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, and the St. Bart’s Music Festival. Mr. Dinitz is active as a soloist and chamber musician and has performed as soloist with the Houston Symphony as well as frequent performances with The Greenbriar Consortium and the St. Cecilia Chamber Music Series. Mr. Dinitz is on the faculty of the University of Houston as an Affiliate Artist in oboe instruction. He has given oboe and English horn masterclasses at many universities across the country including Rice University, Northwestern University, and the Colburn School. A native of suburban Washington, DC, Mr. Dinitz received a bachelor of music from Northwestern University, where he was a student of Alex Klein, and a Master of Music from Rice University, where he studied with Robert Atherholt.
