Yujin Zeng is a soprano currently based in New York City. Yujin is pursuing her Professional Studies Certificate at the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Marlena Malas. In 2022 winter, she made her professional NYC debut as Adina in L’elisir D'amore with Camerata New Jersey and performed as La Princesse in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges with the Manhattan School of Music. Yujin has enjoyed performing various roles for delighted audiences worldwide with her flexible, expressive, and warm voice. Prior to the 2022-23 season, Yujin has been seen as Ma Zegner in Missy Mazzoli's opera Proving Up in Manhattan School of Music, Lu Mu-Zhen in Ro Huang's opera Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Anna in Anna Bolena in Mannes Opera Scenework. Yujin holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Mannes School of Music under the guidance of the legendary soprano Diana Soviero. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China. She worked in many opera scenes as an undergraduate student, including Pamina and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Gilda in Rigoletto, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, among others. During her undergraduate years, she was already the winner of many competitions. Most recently, Yujin competed in the Opera Guild for Atlanta's 6th Annual Scholarship Competition and won the Elizabeth Colton Award. She was one of the finalists in the Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition in December 2022. She was the Encouragement Award recipient at the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in South Carolina District. She won First Prize in the China Region at the Vincenzo Bellini International Vocal Competition in 2021.
Yujin is the recipient of the Mardelle Dressler Dobbins Scholarship and the George and Marianne Strother Scholarship Fund.
