James Allen, from Savannah, Georgia, is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of South Carolina and studies with Dominic Armstrong. His previous credits include Frederic (The Pirates of Penzance) with the Columbia Operatic Laboratory, Dr. Neville Craven (The Secret Garden) with the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory, and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Pâris (La Belle Hélène), and Peter Quint/Prologue (The Turn of the Screw) with Opera at USC. This summer, he returned for his second seasons with both the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory. James holds a Bachelor of Music from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Music from the University of South Carolina.
James is the recipient of The Sabina Mooney Seifert Memorial Scholarship and the Peggy and Andy Anderson Family Scholarship Fund.
