Rose Haselhorst
Violin 1

Rose Haselhorst is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Violin Performance at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, studying with Blair Milton. She also performs with the Milwaukee Symphony as a substitute and will be joining the Civic Orchestra of Chicago as an associate member for the upcoming season. Rose has spent her recent summers at the Meadowmount School of Music and Aspen Music Festival, where she has performed both solo and chamber works. She has been fortunate to share the stage with artists such as Matthew Lipman, Paul Huang, and Andrea Bocelli. During her undergraduate study, Rose was chosen from her class as the 2022 recipient of the Presser Foundation Undergraduate Scholar Award for her academic, musical, and leadership abilities. She was also a prizewinner of the 2022 Dover String Quartet Competition at Northwestern University. Rose has served as Concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra and was a prizewinner in the MTNA Senior Strings division and the MYA Discover National Chamber Competition. She has performed concertos with the Belleville Philharmonic and the Alton Symphony Orchestra as the winner of their concerto competitions. Rose is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and her previous teachers include Gerardo Ribeiro, Joo Kim, and Joseph Kaminsky.
