Max Wang is a student at the Eastman School of Music currently studying for his bachelor's degree in viola performance under Phillip Ying of the Ying Quartet. Max has been a member of various large ensembles such as the OCSA Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, performing in multiple countries such as Russia, Italy and Costa Rica, and has also attended festivals such as the Cremona International Music Academy and Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Alpenkammermusik. He has also had the privilege of playing in masterclasses for incredible teachers and musicians such as Ivo-Jan van der Werff and Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt. Outside of music, Max enjoys hiking, badminton and puzzles.
