Jamie Walton Jr
Trumpet

Jamie Walton Jr grew up as a “Military Brat” with his dad being a Marine. His childhood has been field with unique military experience as well as a variety of musical genres being exposed to him. He is currently working on his undergraduate degree in classical trumpet performance at The Cleveland institute of music.
Jamie Walton Jr has participated in Chautauqua’s summer festival, Sphinx’s audition intensive, The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass institute, Idyllwild’s Orchestra summer intensive, and has spent three seasons with the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra including a performance at Carnegie hall. Mr. Walton has also made his solo debut with Indianapolis’ Hamilton County band in 2024.
Outside of his orchestral duties, Jamie also plays a variety of music genres including jazz, salsa, and classical chamber music. He leads his own ensembles mostly in Indianapolis, IN and Cleveland, OH.
Prior to his studies at the Cleveland institute of music, he has worked with British Brass Bands, high school show choirs, salsa bands, and big bands around the Indianapolis area. Jamie began playing trumpet at the age of 6 taking lessons from his dad. His primary teachers were Michael Sachs, Michael Miller, and Conrad Jones.
