Alexander Bloom
Cello

Described by conductor Benjamin Zander as an “enthusiastic cellist,” Alexander Bloom has performed in various orchestral, chamber, and solo settings. He has served as principal cellist of the Hartt Orchestra and is a former member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Additionally, he has participated in Bowdoin and Chautauqua festivals. He completed his secondary music education at the Rivers School Conservatory in Weston, MA, where he received both a Level IV Artist’s Diploma and the String Department Prize upon his graduation. Alexander is currently finishing his education at the University of Hartford as a Bachelor of Music candidate with a minor in economics. His teachers include Mihai Tetel, Ronald Lowry, and Colleen McGary-Smith.
