Dana Reckard- Cedarburg, Wisconsin- is a horn player, teacher, and arts administrator. She is a graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music, and she is a recent graduate of the Jacobs School of Music, earning her degree with high honors. Her primary instructors are Javier Gandara, Richard Seraphinoff, and Andrew Bain.
Dana has received fellowships and festival engagements at the Round Top Festival Institute, the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) Graz, and the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix International Music Festival. In 2019, Dana studied with Jacques Deleplancque and his horn studio at the Paris Conservatory. She also completed an advanced language immersion seminar while in France as a part of her French minor.
Professionally, Dana has performed engagements with the Juilliard Orchestra, the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, the Bloomington Chamber Singers, and the New Voices Opera, among others. She was an active member of the IU natural horn studio. Dana has also studied jazz horn, and she has performed with the Jacobs Latin Jazz Ensemble.
Additionally, Dana has significant experience as an arts administrator. She currently works for the Office of the University President at Manhattan School of Music. Prior engagements include development work for the United Performing Arts Fund in Milwaukee, program coordination work for the Invested Musician program, and personnel management at the Jacobs School of Music. She will be serving as a music librarian while at Chautauqua.
