Zac Fung is a cellist currently based in Boston, originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. At the age of 16, he relocated to Boston to further his musical education, participating in the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, the Boston Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Zac has appeared with the Riverside Symphonia, Old York Road Symphony, Bucks County Symphony, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival Orchestra and Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He is currently pursuing his studies at the New England Conservatory under the guidance of Yeesun Kim. He won the 2015 Bucks County Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition, the 2016 Caprio Young Artists Competition, the 2016 International Music Competition London Grand Prize Virtuoso, the 2016 Old York Road Symphony Young Artists Competition, and the 2019 Boston Philharmonic Concerto Competition. More recently, he won the Colorado College Summer Music Festival concerto competition in both 2023 and 2024. Additionally, he was a finalist in the 2017 Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and the 2018 Harvard Musical Association High School Achievement Awards. In 2022, he received the Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. In 2022, he was awarded the Performer’s Certificate at Eastman School of Music. He has also performed in masterclasses for Christian Poltéra, Zuill Bailey, David Requiro, Amit Peled, Julie Albers and Benjamin Zander, as well as masterclasses with chamber groups including the Dover Quartet, Horszowski Trio, Pacifica Quartet, and Cleveland Quartet.

Zac has participated in several other youth orchestras including the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, Philadelphia Sinfonia, as well as the Temple Boyer School of Music's Youth Chamber Orchestra. He has attended Harpa International Music Festival in Iceland, Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina, Cremona International Music Academy in Italy, Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, Heifetz International Music Institute in Virginia, and Colorado College Summer Music Festival. He has been a part of orchestra tours to Iceland, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Brazil.
