Percussionist Brian Kushmaul enjoys a career as a versatile musician and educator. He currently serves as principal percussionist of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and principaltimpanist of the IRIS Orchestra. As a teacher he has taught at the University of Evansville,University of Louisville, and the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and he currently leads the percussion program at the Chautauqua Music School. He has performed with many US orchestras, including Saint Louis, Cleveland, Columbus, Phoenix, San Diego, and Louisville. Hehas recorded with the Central Standard Time jazz quartet and Al Sur flamenco ensemble as well as several new music projects with the IBIS Ensemble in Trinidad. Brian currently resides inWestern New York with his wife and two daughters.
