Sofia Puccio

Beginning cello lessons at the age of 5, Sofia Puccio is a current Masters student at the University of Michigan studying with Amir Eldan. Previously, she studied with Michael Reynolds at Boston University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2023 with a minor in economics. She is a winner of the 2019 Boston University Bach Competition, and with the Juniper Quartet placed second in the 2019 Coltman Chamber Music Competition. In past summers, she has participated in the Chautauqua Festival, Domaine Forget Summer Music Festival in Québec and the Garth Newel Music Festival in Virginia. She has taken masterclasses with artists such as Brinton Smith, Steven Doane, and composer Gabriela Lena Frank.
