Gordan Liu completed his bachelor of music degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in July 2022, where he was a student of Felix Ungar. While in Hong Kong, Mr Liu played as a substitute viola with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, played in the Ponte Orchestra, the Queen’s College Old Boys Strings Orchestra. He earned his master of music degree in the Cleveland Institute of Music in May 2024 under the tutelage of Lynne Ramsey (first assistant principal viola of The Cleveland Orchestra 1989-2023) He joined the Canton Symphony Orchestra as second chair viola with the start of the 2022-23 season, played in the City Music Cleveland, the Akron Symphony Orchestra and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. His summer activities have included the Round Top Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and Encore Summer Academy.
